  • BEHI-P013-S08 — Compulsory military training — $25 commission offer
NAACP Records, General Office File, Box IIA449, Negro Digest, folder 3; supplied 91-page PDF; PDF pp. 40–42, 48
The January 2 letter and January 16 telegram offer $25 for at least 500 words on the negative side of compulsory military training. Wilkins’s January 17 reply asks for precise length and deadline; a March 20 reply acknowledges roundtable copies. The earlier workbook’s communism label is incorrect. An offer and acceptance are not proof of final payment.
